Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. E44 Many translations say we will stand before the judgment seat and give an account of what we’ve done, good or bad. (2Cor 5:10) But, scary implication does not fit in the context of what Paul was writing in this chapter and when you hear the Greek understanding you will be amazed and thankful. Ultimately this verse is about grace and the result Jesus’ finished work. Be happy!

Hey there, welcome to crazy Good God podcast. I'm Nancy Teague and thanks for joining me!

00:15 Today is about the judgment seat. Scary? Religion teaches a sobering scary judgment because it focuses on sin and ‘do’! Any grace it speaks of is not true grace, because religion adds conditions, expectations, and proper behaviors. Is that really the gospel? Is that good news? Seriously!? The pure Gospel starts with Jesus and ends with Jesus.

00:42 If the judgment is that harsh, then what do we do with these awesome verses. Now, there are many more, but time doesn't allow.

Jesus said with His last breath, “It is finished.” Paul having revelation of grace and Christ IN you wrote -One, died for all, therefore all died. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them. Through one man Adam's offense, judgment came to all men, so through the one man Jesus, His righteous act of death resulted in justification for all mankind.

01:29 Jesus was delivered up because of our offenses and was raised because of our justification, meaning make righteous. Jesus said, “I've come to do Your will, oh God”. Now by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Jesus on the cross, said, “Father, forgive them, they know not what they do.” Later we read, “Their sins and lawless deeds I remember no more.”

02:03 Now Jesus said, “All judgment is given to the Son”, and later He says, “But I judge no one.” What does that mean? Malcolm Smith, who recently celebrated his 70 years of ministry, started preaching at 14, says “The Judge is judged.” That's amazing, succinct insight. Think about that. “The judge is judged.” Jesus. The Judge, became our judgment. Then the Judge declared on the cross with His last breath, “It is finished.” Sure, looks like Jesus was successful in His judgment and he proved it by His resurrection.

02:47 Then what do we do with scriptures that seem to say otherwise? To wade through them we need to look to Jesus, His finished work, and check out the Greek! Realize many translations are done by those caught in religious tradition, which believes in a distant, angry God who needs to be appeased, that man is wretched/a sinner, and man must do something to get back to God.

03:15 A great example of contradiction is 2Corinthians 5:10. New King James version “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things done through the body according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” Sobering, scary. Most picture our lives will flash before us while standing before the judgment seat - ashamed, regretful, guilty. Is that how Jesus treated sinners?

03:48 Francois du Toit said in his Mirror Study Bible (excellent by the way), “Sadly this verse has been grossly misrepresented in most other translations. Even the word “done: is not in the original text.”

04:08 Context plays into understanding this seemingly scary judgement verse. Paul was talking about life here and life with the Lord. How it's better to be with God, but it's good here too. Then Paul sums up in verse 9, “Therefore, we make it our aim whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to him. Now, note, this translation has shortcomings too. Let me explain.

04:36 ‘Make it our aim’. Hmm, that sounds like a work. But, the Greek is a combination of two words, lover/friend and acknowledged honor. It means aspiring to show affection for what is personally valued and honored. Hey, loving interaction is happening here.

04:57 Make it our aim to be which means I am. I am well pleasing! The Greek also means gratifying because fully acceptable, gratifying means enjoyable, giving pleasure, satisfaction, contentment. We are well pleasing and gratifying to God. In turn, we aspire to show affection for being personally valued/ honored. Wouldn't you have affection for someone who is valuing and honoring you?

05:29 The judgment seat in the Greek is a place of ascending and closeness. We go up to being face to face with the Judge who is judged for us. See His face totally accepting you, delighting in you. He sees you restored, redeemed. And you did nothing to make that happen! The judgment seat is a place of grace and finished work.

06:01 Francois’ Mirror Study. Bible of 2Corinthians 5:10. “For we have all been thoroughly scrutinized in the judgment of Jesus. We are taken care of and restored to the life of our design, regardless of what happened to us in our individual lives, whatever amazing or meaningless things we encountered in the body.”

06:23 From all my study and Greek processing of verse 10, here's my paraphrase - ‘For all to be illumined, become apparent, it is inevitable/necessary that we ascend to His finished judgment, where being before the face of Jesus Christ we recover what had been lost in the fall. We will clearly see that we are valued and restored, being not dependent on whether we practiced intrinsically good things that originate from God or bad/wicked/worthless things. We will see who we truly are in Jesus’ finished judgement. Totally accepted, not religiously judged.

07:05 May Holy Spirit enable you to see this wondrous ascending to the judgment seat with head held high in full realization that you are well pleasing to God. Be thankful and overjoyed for the judgment seat!
