Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! E41 Jesus said, ‘Heaven and Earth will pass away’. If God said His creation was very good, why would He want it to pass away. If Jesus Incarnate came down from and ascended back to Heaven, then why would He want Heaven to pass away? Is Jesus' finished work part of the mystery for Heaven and Earth passing away? Could it be really good news for mankind?!

Hey there, welcome to crazy Good God podcast. I'm Nancy Teague and thanks for listening.

00:16 What did Jesus mean when he said Heaven and Earth will pass away? Scripture also says there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. Many think, and I did too, this must mean God is going to literally make a new heaven and earth. Now, some might rejoice in this because they also think all the bad guys will be done away with.

00:37 I started digging into this phrase after recently reading some thoughts on it by Jamie Engelhart, Pastor,Teacher, International ministries. Boy, was I surprised by what I learned!

00:52 Let's consider. God blessed all of His creation and said “It is very good.” Why would He then want to destroy it? Scripture in Psalms and Ecclesiastes say the Earth remains forever. Jesus came from heaven, even told Nicodemus He was in Heaven and on Earth at the same time, and then Jesus ascended back to heaven. Gosh, Jesus is closely connected to heaven, so why would He want it to pass away?

01:23 Isaiah prophesied, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it?” What is the new thing? Has it already happened?

01:37 Two keys to understanding the phrase ‘Heaven and Earth will pass away’.

#1 Historically, the 1st century Jews saw their temple as heaven and earth. Earth being land mass and sea. Josephus, the 1st century Jewish historian, explained this in his twenty volume ‘Antiquities’ of the Jews. And remember, the temple rituals were about seeking forgiveness and mercy, and connected with Moses’ Laws from God.

02:08 #2 the passing away of heaven and Earth must be seen through Jesus Christ and His finished work. In fact, God was in Christ reconciling the cosmos to Himself. So if heaven and Earth are reconciled, why do they need to pass away?

02:29 Revelation 21 – “The first Heaven and first Earth were passed away and there was no more sea.” The 1st century Jews would have understood this about their temple, and the temple was destroyed in 70AD by the Romans! Just think their physical connection to God through the Temple, all the rituals, the sacrifices, the transactions passed away in the temple's destruction.

02:57 Jesus said to the 1st century Jews, “I did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfill them. Until Heaven and Earth pass away not one jot or tittle will pass away until the law is fulfilled.” Jesus also said, “This generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and Earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

03:24 Jesus is saying Heaven and Earth will pass away when the law is fulfilled and it will happen during the generation He was speaking to. Jesus was talking about his death!

03:37 Jesus fully man was tempted in every way, yet without sin, fulfilled the law and all the prophets’ words about Him. When He died the written decrees were nailed to the cross, dying with Him. So, the law died with him, and lavish grace manifested making one new man by reconciling mankind in one body, thus putting to death the law. In other words, relationship was established, not following laws.

04:11 Now consider, the veil was torn in two at Jesus’ death - the Holy of Holies, Heaven, was now accessible to all men! The Temple representing Heaven, Earth, the law, the Old Covenant, and Jesus representing fallen humanity, all passed away.

04:35 NEW burst forth from the grave, bringing a new Heaven and a new Earth. A new covenant. All sins were forgiven and forgotten. Complete access to God, man clothed in Jesus’ righteousness, true identity restored.

04:54 Paul made this point twice. ‘Do you not know? Your body is the Temple of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit in you.’ It's like saying in Him you are the new Heaven and new Earth.

It is a NOW word! Jesus did for all mankind. He made us one new man - new Heaven, new Earth. Incredible crazy good news.

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you.
