Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! Hi there! I'm Nancy Teague and thanks for joining me on crazy Good God podcast.

00:14 Would you call yourself a son of God? Remember, biblically, son refers to male and female.

Is being a son important? Sonship is a big deal to God. In the parable of the father and his two sons, Jesus is trying to show us this fact. The bottom line - once a son, always a son.

00:39 The parable father never disowned either of his sons, in spite of their flaws. Our Heavenly Father never disowns any of us, his kids. God intimately knows each one of us. He knew us before he formed us in the womb and as he intricately weaved us, hidden in the womb. He is super pumped about our being, not our behavior. Just like the father in the parable.

01:10 Well, let's look at Jesus’ point about sonship in this parable. The prodigal son wasted his life using the inheritance his father freely gave him. Then the prodigal realized he blew it. ‘Hey, I'm not worthy to be called my father’s son. I'll go home and be a servant’. He heads home. What's his father doing? He's been watching for him. Suddenly, the father sees his son in his mind's eye, and he just knows his son is coming home. And off he goes, running. ‘I've got to get my son back!’

01:41 Then, after the father's embrace and gobs of kisses, the son says, ‘I have sinned. I'm no longer worthy to be called your son. I want to be a servant.’ Did the father go, ‘Yeah, I know you really blew it.’ No. He didn't even hear his confession, and proceeded to call for the best robe to be put on his son!

02:03 Realize, the father response is contrary to our religious mindset. This father’s response - no judgment, total acceptance, asking forgiveness was not even heard, and celebration ensued. Jesus is saying, ‘This is what God your Heavenly Father is like.’ That is so foreign to our ‘Sinner focused’ mindset - way back then and today!

02:35 The father wasn't standoffish, offended. He didn't tear down his son or make him feel guilty. Now what are we good at? Tearing down ourselves and others. What does the father do? He HONORS his son. He lifts him up. He unconditionally accepted him because he was his son.

02:58 Jesus, through this parable, is trying to shock us to see how the Heavenly Father sees us as his sons and daughters. We are always wanted, desired, and enjoyed.

03:10 Okay, remember what the prodigal son did? Now compare it to what the father did to his wayward son. The father happily and lavishly encompassed him. Hard to get that, huh?

03:26 So what about this BEST ROBE being put on? BEST in the Greek means chief, foremost, the most important.

PUT ON is the Greek word and enduo – a two part word. En means IN. Duo means to enter, sink into I sink and go under.

03:46 To put on the best robe was effortless. The son didn't have to do anything to earn it or make it fit properly. He figuratively sank into it. The father covered him with the best, most important, and by doing that he displayed the son's true identity.

04:06 Paul uses enduo when he says to put on/sink into the “new man”, and then Paul said put on compassion, kindness, humility, meekness and long-suffering, which means it has a steadfast staying power. Gosh, doesn't that sound like the parable father? It could be said that he covered the prodigal son with himself, showing the son his true origin and how the father sees him.

04:35 Hmm, our Heavenly Father who covered us with the best robe, was his beloved Son, Jesus. The Word says we are covered with the robe of righteousness and Jesus became our righteousness.

04:47 We can't ask for or earn this best robe. God freely gives it to his sons, his children. Once a son always a son, because Jesus restored our sonship by willingly giving his life to make it so. Sonship is a big deal to God.

05:09 If you thought you did something or have to do something to be God’s son or daughter, may Holy Spirit give you eyes to see you were already His son before time began - remember the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world.

Go ahead, just sink into, go under in God's profuse love, and ENJOY YOUR BEST ROBE!

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget that God is absolutely crazy about you.
