Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! Knowing the word RECEIVE so important to understanding Jesus and the father of the Prodigal son and You

E34 God is all about receiving. Jesus told several parables to make that point. It is important to know the meaning of the word ‘receive’ as it helps brings revelation of how much the Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit wants us and enjoys us. Jesus even used a parable about the poor, maimed, lame, and blind to show God’s full house receptivity. What a picture of humanity magnanimously wanted! By the way there are two different Greek words for receive in the Parable of father and his two sons – both receives are important!

Hey, welcome to crazy Good God podcast. I'm Nancy Teague. To learn more about me and this podcast, go to www.crazygoodgod.org.

00:21 Let's take a little detour from the prodigal son's big Homecoming celebration and the elder son being ticked off about it. I discovered a thread of RECEIVING INVITING AND FEASTING that preceded this father and two sons parable

00:37 In Luke 14 Jesus is exposing the Pharisees religious self righteousness and their exclusivity. He shares several parables about inviting welcoming undesirables. Specifically, he called them poor, maimed, crippled, blind. In fact, one of his parables is find them in the highways and the hedges and COMPEL them to come in! The feast giver wants his house full!

01:07 What is the Greek meaning of these undesirables?

The poor means helpless beggarly, destitute, bent over to cower, a picture of rejection. The maimed, crippled - it's a picture of compromised and handicapped. Lame means deprived of a foot - like they can't stand up, they have no balance in their life. Blind, no sight - it's a picture of all who do not see their true identity.

01:39 In fact, Jesus said in John 9, after healing the man born blind, “For this judgment I came that the blind may see and those that see may become blind.” Jesus just leveled the playing field! He wants everybody to see and nobody will see, apart from him gracing us with sight.

02:04 Robert Farrar Capon described who Jesus came for - the least last, last little. If we're honest with ourselves, haven't we all felt or been one of these? The Good News. We are IN and He wants us, and He's after us.

02:24 Just imagine the Pharisees attitude hearing these parables. Well, in Luke 15 they express it. In verse one it says ‘the tax collectors and the sinners drew near, which means close, to hear Jesus. It disgusted the Pharisees. They were complaining and murmuring, saying “This man receives and eats with sinners and tax collectors.”

02:53 I had never focused on the receives word until just a few days ago when I heard a teaching by Malcolm Smith where he highlighted this word. Upon pondering it, I discovered there is also a different receive in this parable on the sons. We'll look at both.

03:13 You know, it's hard to grasp how God would want to receive what we have judged to be undesirable or unacceptable. These two received words might help us get God's magnanimous inclusivity.

03:30 The word received in Luke 15:2 means face to face. In the Greek, it's an interaction. There's an initiation and a response, a warm welcome and reciprocity, actively looking and engaging into and with each other. No wonder the sinners and tax collectors were drawing near to hear him. They literally felt his acceptance and welcome.

03:58 The other received word is when a servant explained to the elder son after his inquiry about all the music and dancing. The servant said “Your brother has come home and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.”

04:17 This received word the Greek word apolambano - apo means to take back, to take again, to recover. Lambano means actively lay hold of something, an aggressive acceptance, emphasizes assertiveness of the receiver.

Can you picture the father is aggressively assertively grabbing his wayward son and wouldn't let him go?

04:48 How about “safe and sound”? The Greek means to be healthy, right, sound, pure, in good working order, holistically, all the parts working together. That is how the father saw his son when he received him.

05:04 That is how the father sees us. Now it may not feel like it in your life. But that is where resting and trusting in His receiving of us with no qualms opens the door for more revelation that this is so.

May the Lord give us revelation of His aggressive, all-encompassing receptivity of all humanity.

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you.
