What is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil If God is good how can He know evil Part 1 Artwork

Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! Hi there, welcome to Crazy Good God podcast. I'm Nancy Teague and thanks for listening to find out more about this podcast, go to crazygoodgod.org.

00:20 The last several quick deep point episodes have focused on finding Jesus in the Garden. Now, some may think, ‘Hmm. I thought He didn't show up until He was born in a Manger. Well, part of what we're trying to grow in is seeing Jesus’ presence everywhere, even in things that we think are not good. I'll be doing a series of Episodes on what we might see as ‘not good’ - that is ‘the tree of the knowledge of good and evil’. Today is Part one.

00:48 Before we jump in - one thing I have been learning over the last decade - His plans and purpose - is to look for or see Jesus present in everything. When I grasped the significance that Jesus made everything that there is not one thing made that was not made by him, then it was a no brainer to start looking. Now Jesus can be there, but he may be Incognito and you know He's pretty good at doing that. Or given the circumstances too hard to believe He could even be present! Besides discovering Jesus everywhere, I've also had to begin to see what's happening through his words, it is finished. So let's remember to look for Jesus and his finished work.

01:37 My thanks to God for Robert Farrar, Capon, and I thank God for capon book, “Genesis The Movie”. A great book. Many insights were gained and some will be included in these QDP Parts on the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Oh, and I will use often tkge to refer to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Saves time that way!

02:02 Here we go. Do you know what the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is? Is it the summation of all good and evil? Is it God's knowledge of all that is good and evil? Was the tkge there to tempt Adam and Eve to see if they would disobey or follow God’s orders? But Scripture says God does not tempt anyone, and even provides a way of escape in temptations.

02:27 Well, some might think it's about God letting us choose after all we were given a will. We will get into that down the road.

02:36 Probably 40 years ago I remember feeling angry towards Adam and Eve. Look at what you did, your disobedience made for misery and sorrow for all mankind! And I blamed them. In essence, I judged them. And now looking at the tech guy and reflecting back on that anger, I realized I was partaking of the tkge. I was clueless about the dynamics of tkge, and we're going to explore those things.

03:07 We assume, believe, that everything in the garden was for our benefit. Right? God is and has nothing but good for us. God only has good thoughts for mankind. God is good and many scriptures say that. Check out the end of the transcript that I provide for references.

03:25 Let's see how God described what he had made. Genesis 131 then God saw everything he had made, and indeed it was very good. Everything he made was very good. Does that mean the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is actually a good thing? What we're going to find out?

03:48 To say, use the word ‘knowledge’, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil implies information and explanation about good and evil. It's kind of like having two columns. The first column, titled ‘Good’ lists all the good actions, thoughts, attitudes we should do and have. The second column titled Evil, lists all the evil or bad actions, thoughts, attitudes to avoid. Now, a possible consequence of this kind of knowledge is if we determine that someone is in the evil column, then we can judge them and know where they are going. Yikes!

04:29 The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil can also be seen as what God knows to be good and evil. This list comes from Him. But God is good. Perhaps you've been part of where the pastor says, “God is good.” and the congregation says, “All the time God is good.” If we believe this, then how can God know evil?

04:55 God is light and there's no darkness in Him. There's no shadow or turning in Him. God changes not. If all his thoughts and tensions purposes are lifegiving and full of love, and compassion, kindness, restoration. How can He know evil?

05:14 In Part 2, we will learn that using the word knowledge of is an inaccurate Hebrew translation!

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you.
