Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! The Old Testament slowly reveals Jesus but we focus on dos and don’ts A fun vision shows Jesus the Word to be the focus

#23 Many believers study the Bible and dig deeply in the Word AKA scriptures. But, we sure don’t want to end up like the Pharisees who searched the scriptures continually to find God. Shockingly, Jesus told them, in their fervid pursuit and striving – they never found Him! Check out a surprising vision that helps see who He really is. Jesus wants to be known but religion, Old Testament misunderstanding, and focus on obedience can cloud our vision of discovering the Real Deal! It’s like Jesus saying, “Have I got a deal for you! It’s bigger and better than your mind can grasp! Best of all it’s free!”

Hi there! Welcome to the crazy Good God podcast. I'm Nancy Teague and I'm pleased that you're joining me. If you want more info about me or the podcast, go to crazygoodgod.org. Hey, by the way scriptures that I reference and a book will be found in the Transcript footnotes.

00:26 The last episode we started talking about the filter where we read the New Testament and if you are steeped in the Old Testament, you're going to know the law, you're going to know the rules, you're going to know the dos and the don'ts. So, when you begin to read the New Testament and the good news - these dos and don'ts, and beware of God, and He can get angry because He likes to destroy cities - at least that's what the Old Testament shows us.

00:58 But there are some really great books out there that explain the hyperbole and the explanation of, for example, Jericho was actually an armed encampment. It was not a whole city with men, women, and children.

01:11 Today I would like to look more at knowing through Jesus. It's kind of like, how do you know if you have a counterfeit dollar bill? Do you know what the experts do?They study the real deal. All they study are the real dollar bills so they can see a counterfeit right away.

01:37 When I think about that, it reminds me of vision I had about a year ago. I had taken a brief power nap in my studio. I had awakened, but my eyes were still closed. All of a sudden, I see a Bible! The Bible is standing upright. But then there are these little wings towards the bottom of the Bible sticking out like baby wings almost. And they were white, and they were like ‘blllrrr blllrrr, blllrrr’ trying to get off the ground. Fluttering and and trying to flap their wings so hard just to get off the ground -the Bible raised about an inch or two and then all of a sudden Jesus pops out of the top of the Bible! Kind of like a Jack In The Box. And He looked at me with this smile, and then He winked his eye.

02:28 mean, I was like, whoa! Well, you know what was going on around the time I had that vision? I was part of a Bible study where we were digging into the scripture and trying to find the truth and the focus was - you gotta get into the word, you gotta read the word, you gotta study, study, study, dig, dig, dig if you want to know God.

But that reminds me of the scripture that Jesus told the Pharisees, “You search the scriptures because you think that in them you have life and yet you're not willing to come to Me that you might have life. And have it abundantly!”

03:09 It was just this beautiful fun expression that Jesus was trying to show me - ‘Hey sure, read the Bible. But if you don't find Me you don't have life, you've got nothing. In fact, you will not even experience My joy and how fun I am.’

So I hope that encourages you that when you are reading scripture that you will remember there is a pattern of Jesus, of the Word hidden even in the Old Testament. If we look for Him we began to see that the Lord was slowly changing our misunderstanding of who God is, which started at the fall!

03:54 In Colossians one it talks about we thought we were enemies of God in our mind. We got all twisted up in terms of thinking God is against us and He has these great expectations for us and we’d better tow the line. Otherwise, we're going to get in trouble and He's going to be angry.

That is not God!

04:16 Jesus came to show us who God really is. Jesus himself, being fully man, was also fully God. It says all the deity dwelt in bodily form. How God did that, I don't know, He's God! He's holy, He's other than, there's nothing like Him. He wants his family restored and by golly, He did it at the cross.

04:47 It says “God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them.” My goodness, He is so for us, and He sealed the deal. We don't have to do anything. It's all by His grace. It's all because of His unfailing love. He included us because He delights in us.

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you.
