What does it mean to deny God It's not what you think Artwork

Crazy Good God

Crazy Good God, do you know Him? He's somethin' else! And He thinks you are AWESOME! My fifteen minute Episodes eventually became five minute Quick Deep Points. The QDPs will make you ponder! Episodes launch every Wednesday morning 5am. Since a child I was told about Jesus. Over the years there have been difficulties and losses that have heightened understanding of who He is. I was involved in numerous ministries and church leadership for several decades. There were many opportunities to see God at work. But, it wasn’t until 2012 that the Lord took me on a journey to discover the mystery of the Gospel, the wonder of Jesus’s incarnation, death, resurrection, and ascension. All of it involves us! For over ten years (hey, I’m a slow learner!) He exposed and dismantled religious mindsets that blocked my understanding of who He really is. Crazy good! Join me on a wondrous adventure to encounter and grasp Jesus's finished work. Religious Christianity tells us there are things we have to do or say to get saved. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." What does that mean? Sounds like Jesus did it all. God just wants us to enjoy His life. He freely gives it to all. All we do is RECEIVE! This crazy good God is head over heels in love with you and all mankind. He made us in His image and likeness so He doesn't make junk! God sees the hidden treasure in everyone. The fall of man brought darkened understanding, deception, and ignorance. The first lie was Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them and really didn't care about them. What a big fat lie! Man still believes God is distant, aloof, angry, disappointed and we must do something to get back to God. But, Jesus said, "It is finished." Now, why do we think we have to do something? Get ready to be wowed! Find out jaw-dropping truths that will expose many lies you've believed about God. If you’ve tried to serve Him and still feel guilty, must do more, just plain worn out, then listen in. The truth is renewing and the Truth is FOR YOU! If you don't know God, never heard of Jesus, or could care less about God, then check out Crazy Good God podcast. You will be surprised and discover God is actually fun! I will even share some fascinating visions and dreams God has given me. They mean even more in light of Jesus' finished work. How cool is that?! QUESTIONS COMMENTS - I'd love to hear from you! #14 Heads up - this is a QDP Episode! ‘Quick Deep Point’. Jump into five minutes of deep. This QDP fits in to the topic of Hell in the previous episode, #13. 2Tim 2:12 says, “if we deny God, He will deny us”. What does ‘deny’ really mean? Some think if you deny God you go to hell. Is that true? Does this verse even have anything to do with hell?! In truth, God has to ‘deny’ sometimes. On top of this, we can be faithless, yet He remains faithful and it’s for our benefit. What a crazy good God!

0:00:14.1 S1: Hi there. Welcome to Crazy

0:00:17.1 S2: Good God. I'm Nancy Teague, and thanks for joining me. Please go to www.crazygoodgod.org for info about me, why, what, where, when! Scriptures in the previous episode, # 13, helped us see where hell really is. It's not where most people, especially Christians, think it is! Check it out if you haven't. Okay, for a while, I am going to take a different approach. I will call these next however many episodes, Quick, Deep Points, QDP, and these are going to tie in with our hell topic, So jump in for about five minutes, see if you get a... ‘I never knew that. Wow. Well, that's helpful.’ Today, let's cover deny. D E N Y, deny. 2 Timothy 2:12, “If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” Religious traditional teaching says, ‘If you deny God, don't want anything to do with Him, you go to hell. Or 2) you have followed Jesus, then deny Him by rejecting what you once believed or by turning to a life of sin. Some believe those people go to hell too. Is that what deny means? The Greek for deny is to contradict. Now, in light of the pure Gospel, that includes God sent His Son to save, not condemn. Reconciled the cosmos through Jesus's death. And made mankind righteous through Jesus's resurrection.

0:02:18.5 S2: John 3:17, 2 Corinthians :-19, Romans 4:25. So, in light of this pure Gospel, deny means - if you say or think things that aren't true, that is deny / contradict what God says – well, He has to contradict you, because God is true to Himself, He cannot contradict his 'beinghood', and what He thinks about us, and what He did for us. Then 2 Timothy 2, verse 13. It says,” If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself, He cannot contradict himself.” Faithless in the Greek means refuse to be persuaded, we could say about our true identity. Faithful means fully persuaded. God is fully persuaded about us and our true identity. He knows what He made! This deny word reminded me of the movie, ‘God Is Not Dead’ 2014. It's about an atheist professor who comes down on a student who believes in God. The professor carries anger from a tragic loss. Woven throughout the movie is the scripture, “If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” Scary. It's the final scene that bugged the heck out of me. The professor gets accidentally hit by a car while crossing an intersection on a rainy night, a pastor, part of the story line, just happens to be at the scene and runs to him. He cradles the professor's head in the middle of the street, knowing he's taking his last breath. He begs him to get saved, to not deny God anymore so he can go to heaven.

0:04:05.9 S2: That's when I literally wanted to stand up in the theater and yell, “This is not who God is!” Now, I know those who did this movie were sincere and caring, I'm not putting them down. And by the way, the professor prayed the sinner's prayer. But I have to ask the question, It was up to the professor to save himself? Deny has nothing to do with going to hell, it has everything to do with not knowing truth and believing lies about yourself and God. The sad thing is, you'll be miserable. Contradict Him all you want, but God remains true to Himself and His eternal assessment of your true wonderful identity. Truth sets you free. Holy Spirit reveals truth. And I'd say He's the Professional Jail Breaker! Watch out, hell! That's crazy Good News that God can never contradict Himself! Until next Wednesday for another Quick Deep Point – Bliss to you, and never forget, God is absolutely crazy about you!
