Hi there, Nancy Teague here and welcome to Crazy Good God podcast.

00:16   The previous episode we explored God's will and Man's will. Recently the Lord reminded me of a dream from years ago. He had fresh insight on His good will and never leaves, in spite of my actions.

00:33   By the way, do you know? God really knows you when he wants to show you something in a dream of vision circumstances. He'll use language and pictures tailor made for you. These will speak to you at the time, but don't be surprised if He has more insight in the future.

00:53   My dream -  I was driving a team of horses hitched to an old wagon. The strange part God was sitting in front of me. My arms were stretched around Him to hold the reins. The horses were trotting along when suddenly I see a drawbridge ahead that is starting to lift up. Making the horses go faster, I thought we could get over the bridge in time. I became worried, then scared as my arms were tiring, straining to hold on to the reins. But by golly, I was not going to let go. The bridge was getting higher, my arms exhausted. It became impossible to be in control. Finally, let go of the reins. Immediately we were on the other side. I was in shock and disbelief! Like, how did that happen?!

What a dream to expose my ‘I can figure it out. I can do it’.

01:51   Obviously my ‘in control’ and ‘self-sufficiency’ were glaring. But now, the Lord is highlighting from the dream His very near presence, patience, faithfulness, care. We tend to look for negative when God speaks to us like ‘Look at what's wrong with me!’ But now, understanding more of Jesus's finished work, I find Him in fresh ways in life, dreams, visions, and in others. And may you too always look for Jesus and the positive.

02:25  Note the dream didn't end with God's chastisement of my control issue or not crying out to Him for help, or not trusting Him. He just let me wear myself out, and He knew I would. Another new insight. In the Dream I knew God was sitting in front of me, but that didn't wow me, comfort me ,strengthened me. His presence did not deter me from still being in charge. The good news is I've changed, particularly in the last 10 years or so.

03:00   This dream also clearly shows God respects our sovereignty. He won't tell us what to do, but He's still there close, even in front of us. He sees what's coming, cares, and provides. Sometimes we don't think He cares at all, but our perspective is flawed because of our self-focus. The good news, Holy Spirit graces us to really see, even if it's down the road.

03:32   I love the Amplified version showing His closeness and care. “I will never under any circumstances desert you nor give you up, nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless, nor will I forsake or let you down or relax my hold on you, assuredly not.” The Greek tense in this passage is emphatic and serious.

04:03   Hey check out real. Life examples of God's presence in Psalm 106 through 107. Time and again God is rescuing His wayward kids. Now, reading through these two Psalms becomes quite humorous because they kept going astray. The story line repeats itself – ‘Remember God - Forget God - Be rescued. Remember God - Forget God - Be rescued.’ He'll never not be there for us.

04:33  The forgetfulness turning away, the failings are not the point of Psalm 106 through 107. The last verse of 107 tells us the point – “Whoever is wise will observe these things and they will understand the mercy/loving kindness/goodness of the Lord.” Hmm, observe - be wise - and understand. This helps grasp Paul's statement, “Be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.”

05:12   To conclude with Robert Farrar, Capon's fascinating explanation of God's Goodwill andHhis grace life.

“The life of grace is not an effort on our part to achieve a goal we set ourselves. It is a continually renewed attempt simply to believe that someone else has done all the achieving that is needed and to live in relationship with that person, whether we achieve or not. If that doesn't seem like much to you, you're right: it isn't. And, as a matter of fact, the life of grace is even less than that. It's not even our life at all, but the life of that Someone Else…” Someone Else is Jesus.

06:09   Grasping the simplicity and profoundness of God's grace and goodwill shakes us to the core, but it brings joy filled freedom. From here throughout eternity we will always be grasping more. Thank you Father Son Holy Spirit for always being in us, with us, and in front of us.

Until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you.

Quote by Robert Farrar Capon is from Between Noon & Three: Romance, Law & the Outrage of Grace. Capon, author of many books, said this book was a watershed experience. He considered Between Noon & Three the most important piece of writing he had ever done. No other work he’d written had moved him as much as this one toward astonishment at grace. If you want to gasp at God’s crazy, effusive, absurd grace - this is the book.
