Hi there, thanks for joining me, Nancy Teague, on Crazy Good God podcast.

00:17   Let's talk about ‘will’. What is God's will? What is man's will?

God's will IS. It simply IS. Always now. His will is love. God's will is holy – in the Greek that means other than, nothing like it. It flows from His goodness. Not influenced by circumstances, disappointments, loss, rejection, even sin! His will is settled, finished, completed, intentional, other centered, best for all, never controlling or threatening. God's will flows from the union, the oneness of Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

01:08   Man's will can be fickle, weak, involves self-effort and focus. Determined by circumstances. Man's will makes vows - try harder, do better next time. Our will is driven by rational or emotional. Can be controlling, manipulative, self-serving, have hidden motives, cause conflicts and damage. Gosh, look at the exertions in our wills! The impetus of man's will – ‘I want my way and my way is best.’

01:44   How about man's will in religion? It has qualifiers, requirements, expectations. For example, to get saved you must decide, choose, ask. After all, God gave us a free will, so you must use your will to say yes to Jesus, to connect with God, and stay connected with Him. Is that how salvation works? Remember, Jesus said, “You didn't choose Me. I chose you.”

02:14   Free will can mean ‘do what you want, God won't stop you’. True. Actually, free will shows God's respect for each person's sovereignty. He won't tell you what to do. There is a beauty in enjoying your day by day choices  -take a walk not take a walk, choose what clothes you wear free, to express who you are - unique and special. God never forces coerces, shames, condemns to get His will. Now Religion’s Will will sure do that!

02:51   God's will is His way and His way as a person - Jesus – approachable, enjoyable, relatable. God accomplished His eternal will in Jesus. Most people don't know it's already accomplished, especially if caught up in religiosity. But God's okay with that, because He will reveal His will to all in His time.

03:19   Have you ever said to God – ‘I will serve you, fast more, study more. worship more, etc.’ Do you know God is not impressed with our wills? He doesn't need our will. He simply wants our heart. He wants relationship. God wants us to BE IN His will. How?

03:41   A key to being in his will is having revelation of your true identity. Believing lies about who you are - sinner, wretched, never good enough, guilty are the crux of not seeing, knowing, and being in the beauty of His will. He longs for us to rest in His good will, and it's about your true identity - always loved, always enjoyed. There's no asking, pleading, hoping for His will to be done. We worry about being in God's will, God doesn't. God already sees you in His will. Jesus did it before time began. Now I know some of you are thinking,  ‘What, are you kiddin’ me?!’ And that's OK. This is a process, especially if religion has had your number. Hang in there. Holy Spirit will reveal truth to you.

04:40  The paradox of God's completed will is that it can be accepted or rejected. To reject doesn't stop God's will of always ‘accepted in the Beloved’ from being true. Remember, He chose us. Rejection or acceptance does not determine God's will.

05:08   A few scriptures on God's will. Please note check out the Transcript for these verses.

·       God has appointed you to know His will.

·       He made known to us the mystery of His will. Hint - it's Jesus.

·       God wills all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.

·       God is long-suffering toward us and not willing that any should perish, but all change their minds.

·       This is the will of God, your sanctification. The Greek - made holy.

·       Jesus came to do God's will and by God's will we have been sanctified through the offering of Jesus's body once for all. That's a huge statement.

·       Jesus, Son of Man, fully man, prayed not My will but Yours be done.

·       Be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. God's will is not about knowing stuff. It's about wisdom and understanding.

06:29   We were in Christ and holy before time began. ‘Wait a minute!’, some of you are sayin’. Now I know that's mind boggling and contrary to religious tradition that says it's up to us to connect with God. Surprise, in Jesus we were never disconnected, even before He made anything.

07:02   The will of God hidden in the mystery of Christ Jesus is made known. We are to know it. Ask Holy Spirit to open your eyes to God's wondrous completed will - fulfilled in Jesus. His will is that you know your true identity, because when you know it, it changes the way you see everybody! And, you will see you BE IN His will. Talk about being free!

Okay, until next Wednesday, Bliss to you and never forget God is absolutely crazy about you!
